Norton are back and come with three offerings of Commando 961s.
The Commandos motor is an air-cooled 961 cc parallel-twin, which uses pushrod valve actuation and fuel injection, and will pump at least
80 hp through the rear wheel.
The frame is made from steel tube integrates the oil tank.
Standard style instruments include analogue gauges and electronic
actuation.
The
Norton SE version sits on carbon fibre wheels, Ohlins suspension (for the sake of appearance the fork will be "right way up" with twin rear shocks). The Brembo calipers are axially mounted and will be
mated to 320 mm discs.
The SE will retail for a
rock-bottom $34,899. That firesale price will include a limited edition
Norton automatic watch by Bremont, an Arai Norton helmet and a Norton leather
jacket.
Norton Motorcycles Canada will also import the Café Racer and Sport versions
of the new 961 Commando a bit later on, though we don't have prices for them yet.
