A damn fine cause.

This year, the Kids Help Phone has been chosen as the official Mad Bastard Scooter Rally charity. Kids Help Phone has been helping Canadian children for over 20 years.

Their mission is to improve the well-being of Canadian children and youth by providing them with anonymous and confidential professional counseling, referrals and information.

There are a couple of opportunities for participants to collect funds for this great cause through getting donations with a pledge sheet (via a PDF download and/or an online form) and via a charity raffle at the Rider’s Presentation Dinner on Friday June 12. 100% of these proceeds will go to the Kids Help Phone.

To encourage you to go mad and get as many donation dollars as you can we will also be allocating a certain number of Mad Points (these are what you need to accumulate in order to win the KYMCO Super 9) for dollars raised. Points will be credited to you at check-in on Friday which is when you need to present all your monies raised.

But wait, there's more. For each Mad Point awarded you'll also get one ticket for the Friday night raffle where you could win from a selection of great prizes*

** This is the bank of MBSR, which takes anything related to the MBSR whether it actually has any value at all. The bank of MBSR currently holds a lot of toxic assets, mainly asset backed papers, which sadly are quite rough and do not make for good toilet paper.

We've now posted all the Riders and Teams that pre-registered in a new menu item appropriately titled "Riders".

In total we have 61 riders who pre-registered, 25 in the Straight Jacket class, 6 in the Therapy Required, 19 in the Heavily Medicated and 11 in the Day Release. That means that we currently have 14 spots that will be made available on the 16th of April.

Oh yes, that is the 16th, not the 13th as we originally said. That's mainly due to the postal delays over Easter meaning that not all the cheques have arrived, so we figured we'd give the 'chequies' a few more days grace.

As of the 16th, any unpaid pre-registrant slots get thrown open to anyone who wants them. That'll be noon on the 16th, Eastern Standard time.

Just in case you don't win a Super Nine, you can at least arrive early and test one ...

KYMCO's interested in holding a Demo day on the Friday at the Four Points hotel.

Question is, who would be interested in coming out to the rally a bit earlier in order to get to ride some of the KYMCO scoots?
