Konker take it to the streets.

Langley, B.C. based imported, Konker Motors is bringing in its first street legal motorcycle to Canada – a new 200cc supermoto.

The KSM 200 uses a single-cylinder, air-cooled, 200cc four-stroke motor with a 26 mm Mikuni carb. No word on horsepower but it does come with an electric/kick starter and a five speed box.

Suspension is provided by USD forks up front and a mono-shock rear, with braking by a single 290 mm disc (with 2-piston caliper) up front and a drum rear.

Wheels are 17 inchers to allow for sporty rubber but their is a bolt-on enduro kit that includes 21"/18" wheels, complete with brake, another 290 mm disc rotor and rear sprocket for easy swap-over. Seat height in supermotard form is 787 mm (31"), there's a 10.6 litre gas tank and the claimed dry weight is 112 Kg (248 lbs).

MSRP is $2,995.00 with an additional $495.00 for the enduro kit. The KSM 200 should be in Konker dealers across Canada in January.

According to Konker the bike is built in a Suzuki-partnered facility in China (the motor is identical to Suzuki's DR200 mill) and is backed by a one year warranty.

OK now, I have to say I'm usually the first to dismiss the Korean/China imports as "disposable" bikes without a good dealer network, parts and the like but at 3 and a half grand with spare rims? It's starting to look more than just a little good for a city commuter/cottage trailbuster.

I'd have to agree with you. It'll be interesting to see how this holds up.

I was going to pick up a DRZ400SM but after seeing this I think I'll wait to see if they have one at the TO bike show, might be worth it for the low hours I'll be putting on it.
