Chantal and Stephanie finish rally

Two Quebec women who completed the Trophy Roses des Sables rally in Africa last month were the only motorcyclists in the event.

Chantal Cournoyer and Stephanie Chagnon rode 450X off-road motorcycles provided by BMW and are reported as the first motorcycle riders to cross the finish line in the rally's eight-year history.

The Trophy Roses des Sables is a women-only rally that takes place in Morocco.

This year, the vast majority of entrants rode in SUVs in the rally, which ran Oct. 9 - 17.
