A west coast distributor will bring in a new line of Chinese-made scooters, all with four-stroke motors.

The Baotian Motorcycle Industrial Company is a large Chinese manufacturer of motorcycles, scooters, ATVs, motors, and other products. The Vancouver importer of Konker motorcycles, Motorsport Craze Distribution Ltd., will import three Baotian scooters, the air-cooled 50 cc Quadro and Lotus, and the liquid-cooled 150 cc Euro.

The Quadro is the least expensive of the three and is a basic scooter, retailing in Canada at $1,299, while the $1,499 Lotus comes with twin headlights, a two-stroke style exhaust, 12-inch wheels and turn signals incorporated in bodywork. The 150 cc Euro retails for $2,399 and rolls on 16-inch wheels. Features include front and rear disc brakes and LED lights.

A website, www.awesomescooter.com, is not yet ready for public view, but we're told that it will be soon.

Oh please, enough with the crappy chinese scooters. Awesomescooter.com? Thats so professional. Just another dropshipping clown who buys a few container full, no parts, doesn't honor parts only warranty and is out of business in 10 months leaving poor customers hanging.

Scooter sales are flat and will remain so. Only when the price of gas makes takes a big hike, will sales resume.

This distributor has been around for a few years now and this is his 3rd attempt at a road legal vehicle. The last, the KSM200, was never listed on Transport Canada web site as approved for road use. I wish him luck.

Hey Just so that there's no confusion - here is a link to the Transport Canada pre-clearance website which has Konker's KSM200 listed as pre-cleared for Motorcycles only. http://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/saf- sec-sur/7/pcl-lir/ Search_Result.aspx?rb=VIMP&src=motorsport%20craze

we should try to understand that not all Chinese products are created equal. Don't forget that your Ipod says "designed in California, made in China".

There are already several Chinese made scooter brands which are doing phenomenally well in the Canadian market place such as "Keaway, Saga, and even some of the SYM scooters are made in china. I know from experience that the above mentioned suppliers have excellent parts support, and keep a large parts inventory on hand.
