Touring New Zealand by motorcycle should be on everyone's top 10 list ...

In 2009 my husband Peter and I would like to come to Canada for about a month and travel by motorcycle. Would someone in Canada like to do an exchange with us? i.e., You could borrow our bike to travel around New Zealand when you come here, and we would use your bike to travel in Canada?

In NZ we have a 2002 Yamaha XJ1300 that we travel around New Zealand on. It has full luggage and is in great condition. We live in the east coast town of Oamaru in the beautiful South Island of New Zealand within an hour and a half of lakes, mountains (like Mount Cook), ski-fields etc.

We are aged 61 and 56 years respectively, both ride and are careful owners. We could perhaps even do a home exchange if it was at the same time.

We are thinking Late September, early October 2009. If you are interested please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Sounds like a hell of a deal for anybody who wants to have springtime instead of Canadian fall ... hmm.

I think they better change their date for travelling. It is usually cold and wet starting that time of year here on the Left Coast. The mountains will be cold and getting their first dumping of snow too.

September is probably the nicest riding season for Ontario and Quebec.
