aprilia_mojito_custom_50.jpgI love the Aprilia Mojito and read that the Mojito 50 was supposed to be available in Canada in 2005, yet it still isn't.

I was wondering if you know if Aprilia have any plans on bringing the 150 version here?

When I e-mailed Aprilia to ask them I just received an automatic reply advising me to contact a dealer and they would be able to answer all my questions – which they didn't.

Thanks, Joanne

You're right. I took a gander through the CMG archives and found the following references :

On the more petite (and affordable) end of the biking scale, the SR50 Ditech sports scooter ($3,995.00) and Mojito 150 ($4,995.00) complete the Aprilia range. (CMG News, 1st June 2006)

The Scarabeo 250 and Mojito 50 were originally supposed to come as 05s, but we've just been told that they won't be here till 2006. (CMG NMBG 2005)

It would appear that we'd either been told porkies or made an error (not possible with us that). However, to be fair, these statements were made before the current importer got the brand. Still, we thought we'd try our CMG muscles with (the new) Aprilia Canada and got the following reply:

Unfortunately we won’t be carrying this model in Canada as the US has also opted not to carry this model for 2008.

We encourage you to check out your local Aprilia Dealer for a bike that may suit your needs.

Thanks for your interest in the brand.

Hmhhh, seems the CMG muscles need a bit of gym time ...

The Aprilia Mojito, was not imported to Canada when the US decided not to import it making certification too expensive. If the US brings in the Mojito, there is a good chance that CSC (Aprilia Canada) will as well.

P.S. A Mojito is also a very delicious cocktail, available at many upscale adult beverage establishments.

I always wanted a Honda Joker, but all the clones have been tacky Chinese bikes. I'm glad to see that Aprilia has come out with one with some decent quality.
