Planning to do some rides this year and want an organized event to base it around? Look no further than CMG's monthly Ride Guide!

Here are CMG's picks for the month of June ...

 RALLIES AND BIG EVENTS

wroar-120.jpg WROAR Ride   June 1    Toronto, Ontario
Fourth annual Women Ride Out Against Rape ride. Held at Honda's head offices in the GTA with Honda demo bikes available for testing to boot. If you get a bit bent out of shape then you can also do a spot of yoga or get a massage demo. Lovely.
ride-for-sight-120.jpg Ride For Sight
June 6–8        Fort Lawrence, Nova Scotia, and Rock River, Yukon
June 13–15    Olds, Alberta, and Treherne, Manitoba
June 22–22    Trenton, Ontario, and Longlac, Ontario
June 27–29    Gander, Newfoundland

The largest organized ride in Canada and the world's biggest single fund raiser for vision research (min donation is $50 to $75 depending on region). The Trenton, Ontario, ride is national HQ and as such will draw the biggest crowds and have the most events.
base-borden-120.jpg

Yellow Ribbon Ride    June 8    CFB Borden, Ontario
This event is hosted by the Base Borden Motorcycle Club and raises money for the families of armed forces personnel who are stationed overseas. Cost is $20 per rider and $5 per passenger.

friday-13th-120.jpg

Friday the 13th    June 13         Port Dover, Ontario
Somewhat of a legendary gathering these days. Held every Friday the 13th, no matter what time of year it is (which makes it interesting in January). Do it at least once in your life. Or twice.

cvmg-120.jpg

The Paris Rally    June 13-14    Paris, Ontario
The premier vintage rally for eastern Canada, this CVMG event has been around longer than some vintage bikes. Seminars, a swap meet, bike shows, trials demos, games, and Chris Ellis from Triumph Canada as guest speaker all make for a great day out. Well, according to Mr. Ellis anyway .... Day pass is $5.00.

pikefalls-120.jpg

Pike Falls Classic    June 13-15    Lanark, Ontario
Live entertainment, a bike show, motorcycle games, and the word "classic" make this a classic bikers get-together. $20 gets you in as well as entry to the raffle for a new Harley Softail Deluxe. Monies raised go to Lanark County Camp Fund (though we know not what that be).

breath-of-life-120.jpg

Ride for the Breath of Life    June 21    Edmonton
This ride to raise funds to help fight cystic fibrosis should attract a hundred or more riders. Registration fee is $25, which is waived if you can raise $100 or more in pledges.

bikers-reunion-120.jpg

Bikers Reunion   June 27-30    New Liskeard, Ontario
The fifth year for this popular event, which should draw several thousand motorcyclists (it's not just for bikers after all). Freedom Ride, music, demo rides, strongman competition, etc, make for an entertaining few days. Entry is $10 per person with a flat fee of $30 for a camping spot.

 DUAL SPORT RIDES

rallyconnex-120.jpg TTT to Blue     June 21    Orangeville, Ontario

A full day's ride into the woods on street legal dual-sport bikes with the route laid out for you via a GPS. Time to slap on some knobbies to the KLR, DRZ, whatever, and go explore some of Ontario's excellent backroads and trails.

June's event kicks off at Tractor Tuf and Trail Co. just out of Orangeville and meanders through Terra Nova, Creemore and the Niagara Escarpment. Cost is $70 in advance or $80 on the day. GPS rental extra.

bc-big-traillie-120x70.jpg B.C. Big Trailie    June 20-22    Merritt, B.C.

An easy ride over good gravel and twisty paved roads through southern B.C. Ideal for big dual sports. A very good, scenic riding area, without too much challenge for the beginner. Overnight stays at motels. See advrider.com for info and messaging.

dualsportbc-120.jpg Dead Zone 2008    June 28    Spences Bridge, B.C.

A dual sport ride through the high country around the Fraser Canyon, with three routes laid out for varying levels of experience. Be prepared for heat, cold, dust, mud, rain, and snow. A $40 entry gets you a T-shirt, and pre-registration by June 10 is a must.
