Leaky ZZR1200 - THANKS! Print E-mail

ZZR1200 leaky cooling system tracked down to faulty o-ring.

I am a little late in sending this to you however I wanted to thank you for the guidance you provided (RE: Techknobag - Leakey ZZR1200).

When I took the bike into the shop (private shop - NOT the dealer) I provided them with the thoughts you had regarding the source of the leak.

They did complete a pressure check of the cooling system and found the leak to be an improperly installed "o" ring between the engine and the coolant pipe (difficult to find when you see where the pipe is located on the back of the engine).

This could only have happened when the bike was manufactured, so it appears that the Japanese are not perfect (pretty close to it but they do make the odd mistake).

Thank you again for your assistance.

Steve Ireland

Yer welcome. Glad we are occasionally of use.....

KC

I'm not sure that the idea that CMG can actually be a source of useful information actually sits well with me, but well done KC and TK4 regardless, and thanks Steve for the feedback.
