Ride the United Way
September 13 Hamilton, Ontario
The second annual United Way poker run will wind through 150 km of roads around the Hamilton, Flamboro, and Burlington area. The OPP Golden Helmets will be on hand to demonstrate some precision riding afterwards. Registration is $25 for riders, $15 for passengers.

BEAT Cancer Ride
September 14
Newmarket, Ontario
It's a noncompetitive, three-hour motorcycle ride around beautiful Newmarket, Calif ... er, Ontario. Raise money to help wipe out cancer. No pets, no smoking, no booze ... and they want your money. Who said charity work isn't fun? Registration is $25 rider, $10 passenger.

GS Challenge September 19- 21
Lac Beauregard, Quebec
Organized by Moto Internationale of Montreal, this event is geared toward BMW GS owners but is open to all dual sport riders and their machines. Activities include on and off road clinics and general things that get you dirty.

Bikers for Burns Ride
September 21
Flying Swan Cafe, Vancouver, B.C.
This ride is becoming a popular Vancouver tradition, running from the Flying Swan Cafe on W. 4th Ave. to Harrison Hot Springs. The first 150 riders get something from the German Advertising Advantage (eh?) and 5th Gear will put on a stunt show. Minimum contribution $25.

BEAT Cancer Ride
September 27 St. Catharines, Ontario
If you missed the Newmarket event, you can still join other riders and contribute to the battle against all types of cancer. Hey, you might not get many more chances for group riding this season. And they need you. Their goal: $15,000. So far: $36 ....

Calabogie Boogie Trail Ride
September 6-7
Calabogie, Ontario
The Boogie is suited to novices, but optional tougher trails, rated for difficulty, and a GPS dual sport route will be available. Quiet bikes only. Entry is $100 until Aug. 30, $120 after or $65 for a single day's entry. An Ontario Trail Ride Series event with the Bytown Motorcycle Association.

Mazinaw Trail & GPS Dual Sport Ride
September 13-14
Cloyne, Ontario
An Ontario Dual Sport Club event. Saturday's trail ride is okay for blue and green plated bikes (i.e. not dual sports), but don't forget the gas can. Sunday's is dual sport day with 200 km of easy trails all laid out on GPS. Entry is $70 for both days, or $45 Saturday and $35 Sunday.

Corduroy Enduro GPS Adventure Day

Haliburton Highlands, Ontario
A Rally Connex event for fans of the Corduroy Enduro: Watch the event on the Saturday and cheer on the enduro riders, attend the supper, and then join a GPS ride on the Sunday. Forest access and gravel road riding, but no actual competition. Pre-reg: $70/$80 day of event.
