sm_mybackup.jpg An Israeli inventor has produced a safety device that he says will help prevent motorcyclists from being rear-ended in traffic.

Rahamim Levi's product is called My Backup. It's a strip of three lights that a rider wears on the back of a helmet or jacket. A red brake light is surrounded by yellow turn signals, and the strip is wirelessly connected to the motorcycle's brake and signal light systems.

Levi says the system will help riders, especially quick-moving ones in traffic, be seen better.

The system will cost about $100 if it gets to market - and it just might do that. My Backup is in trials in Israel now, but Levi has founded a company to produce it, and wants to sell it around the world.
