Tourers like the Road King Classic get a new chassis.

The seven touring models all now get a new chassis that consists of a new frame, swingarm and wheels. The result is claimed to be better handling and increased luggage capacity.

The engine rubber mounting system has been changed for more vibration isolation, and the trail and wheelbases have been increased for more stability.

Front wheel sizes have been upped to 17 inchers (except for the Road King Classic that uses a 16 incher) and the rear 16 incher has been made wider for fatter tires with higher load ratings.

Oh and the pipe's been redesigned for "better heat management" and two teeth have been added to the rear pulley for more acceleration (presumably at the cost of top end speed).

Any other questions? Good, let's carry on then shall we.

Flex some muscle.

There's a new V-Rod called the Muscle which gets drag racing styling with a wide, angular air-box cover and a chopped tail section.

There's also a super wide 240 mm rear tire, and silver five-spoke cast aluminum wheels, and a new deep seat contribute to the muscularly look.

MSRP is $20,829.00 (which went up $2k in Dec 08 due to the sinking Loonie) for Vivid Black with an additional $370.00 required for Pearl.

Heritage Softail Classic gets retro.

The Heritage Softail Classic gets a bit of a retro makeover with a beefier front end featuring a restyled fender and chrome headlight nacelle.

Taller handlebars, and glass-filled 3-D badges on the fuel tank is topped with a "Cat Eye" console. Mmmhh, cat eye console ... Seat, bags and sissy bar get the restyling touch too.

MSRP starts at $21,989.00, topping out at $22,999.00, depending on required colour.

In the Dyna range, the Street Bob has been redone with bobbed and blacked out features, a new speedo in silver, a chopped rear fender, and solo seat. Mini ape-hangers are internally wired so that you get that unwired looking handlebar thing going.

MSRP is $15,729.00 for Vivid Black or $16,149.00 for Pearl paint.

Tri-Glide Ultra Classic

The Tri Glide should keep the Boomers booming for a while longer.

A new three-wheeled Ultra Classic touring Harley, the Tri Glide (based on the Electra Glide), makes its debut for 2009 and is engineered specifically for the demands of a three-wheeled motorcycle.

Eh, what would they be then? Good question – Forks have been lengthened, a steering damper is used, and a new frame which supports a new rear-axle assembly with an aluminum centre section with steel axle tubes.

Power is supplied by a rubber mounted Twin Cam 103 motor with the six-speed transmission used on Harley's Touring motorcycles. There's two disc brakes up front and a Hayes type dual disc built into the rear (with lever actuated integrated parking brake).

Seat height is 750 mm and there's a claimed dry weight of 517 lbs (there's an optional electric reverse too just in case). There's also a large tourpak at the rear as well as a tail-trunk, offering 2.26 cubic feet of luggage capacity and a 'batwing' faring up front.

MSRP is $37,399.00 in black or $38,369.00 for Pearl white (up a chunk over previously published rates due to the Dec 08 price hike).
