Kymco launches a small scale attack on the Land of the Rising Sun, and
the Taiwanese company has its crosshairs aimed squarely at Honda’s
diminutive yet popular CBR125R, with the introduction of the 2010
Quannon 150.
Modest specs include an air-cooled 149 cc SOHC single with four valves,
fuelling by a Keihin carburetor and a five-speed transmission. The
engine hangs in a steel frame that rolls on 17-inch wheels with
wide-ish 110- and 140-series tires, front and rear respectively.
Claimed weight is considerably heavier than the CBR's, as its 137 kg
(302 lb) dry compares to the Honda’s 127 kg (280 lb) wet. Some of that
weight could be attributed the Quannon’s centre stand, which is
standard.
Available for $3,495 in red, white or blue, including a two-year
warranty. BTW, you can read Editor 'Arris's quick test on the bike
(which he did when he was in Taiwan last year) here. More info on Kymco's website.
