There was a great Moto GP race at Sepang in Malaysia this weekend past. The fact that it wasn't for the lead didn't detract from the excellence of the spectacle at all.

There's a new Nascar track coming to Fort Erie (which might include a road racing course for motorcycles) and a new racing series for motorcycles in Ontario.

in race one at Magny-Cours in France to clinch his third WSB title,
then retired in style by winning race two - if his retirement plans
stick, his last-ever race.

Moto GP weekend update

The Australian Moto GP race went to Casey Stoner and Ducati in a bit of
a romp despite a strong early charge from Repsol Honda's Nicky Hayden
(who'll be Stoner's team-mate in 2009), but in spite of the margin of
victory it was a highly entertaining race all the way back to seventh.

Corser hired by BMW

BMW Motorrad has announced officially that Australian Troy Corser has agreed to a two-year contract with the Bavarian firm to race the S1000RR, their new World Superbike entry, alongside Spaniard Ruben Xaus.
