Bridgestone is releasing a new sport-touring tire for Canada and the United States, the Battlax BT-023.

The new hoop does not represent a major leap in tire technology, but the rubber company says it brings good wear characteristics and wet weather traction, with good general duty performance.

The tire replaces the BT-021 except where OEM applications require the older tire, and uses a new rubber compound with silica and a polymer to enhance wet performance and tread life.

The tires measure 120/70-17 and 180/55-17 for front and rear wheel use, and come in two specs, regular and GT for heavy bikes.

U.S. prices are about $185 for front and $250 for rear.
