Regional racing series are the grassroots of racing, providing the proving grounds for up-and-coming riders.

Despite Quebec once being a hotbed of motorcycle road racing, producing riders like Pascal Picotte, Francis Martin, Kevin Lacombe and the legendary Duhamels among others, the province has been without a regional race series for the last five years.

ASM, the former regional race series owned by Alan Labrosse, who is also a shareholder of Autodrome St-Eustache, has recently folded, thus allowing the introduction of the TFR racing series, headed by Céline Gignac. Gignac began organizing TrackFever track days two years ago, based out of Circuit ICAR, in Mirabel, Quebec, and the absence of a racing series in the province prompted her to take the next step.

Gignac's TrackFever Racing will hold a five-race series, at three racetracks in the province: Circuit Ste-Croix near Quebec City; Autodrome St-Eustache, a former national venue; and Circuit ICAR, a current national series venue.

The series' formula is unique in that the races will be one-day events, with practice, qualifying and finals taking place on a Sunday. All race days will be preceded by a Saturday track day, where racers can perform bike setup and practice among other track day users.

Holders of current race licences are eligible, though a TFR race licence must be purchased before or at the event. Also eligible are riders who have completed an accredited race school, or former racers if they can provide the proper credentials.

Race classes include Pro and Amateur Superbike, Pro and Amateur 600, Open Novice, Lightweight, and combined Pro/Am SV650 and Pro/Am Supermotard. Also on the schedule is a non-championship, season-ending four-hour endurance race.

More info, including track day and race school schedules can be found at trackfever.ca .
