The Stryker tries to keep the chopper alive.
Yamaha Canada has just confirmed that two new models will be coming to Canada.
The 2011 Stryker chopper is powered by a 1,304 cc fuel-injected and liquid-cooled 60° V-twin.
Styling is Easyriders inspired, with a stretched and raked steering head and a long wheelbase (1,750 mm/68.9 inches).
A 40-degree fork angle is achieved via a 34-degree rake and tripleclamps that incorporate a six-degree offset. This lightens steering, while giving that super-stretched look.
Also in Yamaha's near-future line-up is the Super Ténéré, a 1,200 cc adventure tourer with its sights aimed squarely at BMW's R1200GS.
Super Tenere — a GS beater?
An early-release 2012 model, it's parallel-twin engine has a 270-degree crankshaft for boosted midrange and a V-twin sound. A ride-by-wire throttle enables Yamaha to incorporate different power curves for different riding environments.
Also part of the electronics package is ABS, in a linked system that prioritises the rear brake if it is applied before the front.
Prices have not yet been announced. More info on both machines can be found on Yamaha's website.
