Welcome to Friday Fudge – a weekly round up of the more 'unusual' motorcycle related stories that are just too silly to post on their own, but raise a much bigger chortle when you slap them all together and take the piss.

Ad agency subtracts H-D

With ads like this, who needs Carmichael Lynch?

An advertising agency that has represented Harley-Davidson for 30-plus years has walked away from the motorcycle company.

Carmichael Lynch, the ad agency, said Harley has reduced its marketing budget in recent years as sales have fallen, and never did spend a lot of money, anyway.

Harley formed a relationship with Carmichael Lynch in 1979 and became its second-oldest client.

But the ad agency’s president, Doug Spong, says they could no longer offer anything useful to the Motor Company. “It got to the point where we no longer felt we could take that brand forward,” he told the Associated Press.

Harley is not worried about being dropped. The company uses a variety of ad agencies that can take up the slack.

Marriage not working out

She's nice when she's not drinking.

The wife of a Pittsburgh area motorcyclist is accused of trying to kill her husband after she drove her car into his rear wheel.

Shortly after 1 a.m. on July 12 the 42-year-old woman allegedly accelerated her Chevrolet Impala into the rear of her 45-year-old husband’s motorcycle.

But the rear of the bike got jammed under the car’s bumper and the bike and rider got pushed about 800 metres, upright, by the car. The motorcyclist tried to accelerate away from the car but was unable.

After almost half a minute, the car pushed the bike off the road and crashed.

Police said the car was doing about 110 km/h when it hit the bike.

The husband was seriously injured. "I broke both bones in my lower leg, my ankle, two ribs, tore my liver and injured my collarbone and shoulder," he said at a preliminary hearing. His wife is charged with attempted homicide and other bad things.

A wasp in his bonnet

This wasp actually killed someone.

When a couple of Tennessee motorcyclists failed to react properly to a raised middle finger, the finger’s owner did what anyone would – he sprayed them with wasp killer.

The Kingsport, Tennessee, man was arrested after he sprayed the foam on a woman who was a passenger on the motorcycle.

The attack was set off after a car driver began following the motorcyclists very closely, the car driver displaying his middle finger. The motorcyclists told police they pulled over to let the car pass, which it did.

But they subsequently encountered the same car stopped in the middle of the road, and manoeuvred around it. That’s when the wasp killer was sprayed at them.

The car driver told police the motorcyclists had spit on his car, which made him spray the wasp killer. Police charged him with two counts of reckless endangerment.

Anarchy's Son the real deal

sm_sons.jpg
Tough guys: Sons of Anarchy.

Fans of the cable show Sons of Anarchy may be happy to know that at least one of the actors is the real thing.

The show depicts a gang of outlaw bikers who run guns, occasionally kill people, and look sexy.

In their gun-running and some other activities, they make money, so naturally they have a book-keeper.

The actor who plays this role, Mark Boon Jr. (the character’s name is Bobby Munson) was arrested recently after allegedly fighting with a cop.

He was pulled over for a traffic violation and apparently lost his temper and assaulted the officer, who called in several more cops and arrested the actor.
